• Mount Pleasant committee revisits data center issues as moratorium advances (abcnews4.com) — Mount Pleasant's Planning Committee is meeting Monday to refine zoning and land-use rules as the town advances a 120-day pause on new data center projects. With no large proposals pending, the moratorium would give leaders time to define data centers and build in public review so residents can weigh in before future projects move forward. 
• Mount Pleasant works to update animal cruelty law (live5news.com) — Mount Pleasant officials are moving to tighten the town's animal cruelty ordinance, adding clear standards for humane care, housing, tethering and weather protection that animal control can enforce. Leaders are also considering more officers and future steps like microchipping, registration, and limits on outdoor pet sales, aiming to make the town a statewide leader in animal welfare.
