3. Bolt cutters used at Moncks Corner storage site before U-Haul van theft, sheriff says (abcnews4.com) — Deputies tracked a stolen U-Haul van from a Moncks Corner storage facility to North Main Street in Summerville, where they arrested the suspected driver after a brief foot chase and struggle. The van was recovered and returned to U-Haul, and the 29-year-old suspect now faces multiple theft and resisting-arrest charges. Residents may notice increased law enforcement presence around local fuel stations and Main Street corridors.
   

4. Buc-ee's awarded $850,000 in trademark infringement lawsuit (abcnews4.com) — A South Carolina judge ordered apparel retailer Born United, which has a Summerville store, to stop using a logo resembling Buc-ee's beaver and to pay the chain $850,000. The ruling ends a 2025 trademark fight and warns the company it could owe additional legal fees if it violates the settlement, while a state senator who once held a stake in a Myrtle Beach location stresses he's no longer involved.
