James Wayland Pierce, Sr. (wgrv.com) — Longtime Greeneville native James Wayland “Jimmy” Pierce Sr., 89, has passed away, and friends and family can pay their respects Sunday at Trinity United Methodist Church with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery. A Greeneville High Sports Hall of Famer and Tusculum College alumnus, he was remembered for his faith, love of family, and deep roots along Tusculum Boulevard.

Three Injured In Two Separate Wrecks On I-81 Wednesday Morning (wgrv.com) — Three people were injured Wednesday morning in two separate crashes on I-81 in Greene County, including a serious box-truck wreck near mile marker 43. Greeneville Emergency and Rescue Squad, EMS, THP, and volunteer fire departments responded, and charges in the first crash are pending as officials continue investigating what caused the back-to-back incidents.
