The longtime local electric utility leader will discuss early steam-powered lights, the 1935 public act enabling local systems, and how rural communities like Huntingdon gained reliable power over time.
   

• UCHS Purple People Will Entertain, Compete With Separate Shows In 2026 (radionwtn.com) — Union City High School's marching band will bring its new competition show to Huntingdon on October 3 for the Huntingdon Marching Invitational. The band is debuting separate Friday night and competition programs this season, with a busy schedule of regional contests leading up to the Tennessee Division II State Marching Championship in Smyrna on November 7.
   

• Middle Mustangs offense explodes in win to start the season - Carroll County News-Leader (newsleaderonline.com) — Huntingdon Middle School's Mustangs opened their football season with a dominant 38-8 home win over Trenton Rosenwald, powered by Cohen Gray's 178 rushing yards and three touchdowns. The defense forced multiple turnovers, and the team now looks to keep momentum going with a road trip to Dresden this Thursday.
