Memphis Fire Dept. honors the fallen with 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb (actionnews5.com) — Memphis first responders and residents are invited to a new 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium on September 26, starting at 9:01 a.m. Participants will climb the equivalent of 110 stories in full gear to honor fallen firefighters and support their families, creating a meaningful new remembrance tradition for the city.

The St. Jude Classic Celebrates 19 Years of Hope and Healing (bossierpress.com) — Money raised by this year's St. Jude Classic will directly support lifesaving pediatric cancer research and treatment at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis. The September 17–20 tennis and pickleball event features a large online silent auction, open to anyone, with all net proceeds helping ensure families never receive a bill for care, travel, housing, or food.

4. Protect Our Aquifer: End Water Discounts for Major Industrial Users (memphisflyer.com) — An advocacy group is urging Memphis Light, Gas & Water to end discounted water rates for major industrial users, arguing the current structure is regressive and discourages conservation. Protect Our Aquifer delivered a petition with over 1,000 signatures and points to Jackson, Mississippi's tiered rates as a model to better protect Memphis's valuable drinking water source and treat ratepayers more fairly.
