• State budget includes funds for Carter Co. fire engine replacements, Helene recovery (wjhl.com) — Mountain City will receive $520,386 in the new state budget to help cover Hurricane Helene flood recovery costs, while Johnson County gets more than $3.2 million plus planning funds for a youth sports complex. Nearby Carter County communities also secured money to replace three destroyed fire engines and support broader recovery and local infrastructure projects.

• NETN Association Realtors: Median price of homes in region sitting at $282K (wjhl.com) — Mountain City’s housing market is surging, with home sales jumping 200% in March to 12 closings, leading the entire Tri-Cities region. NETAR reports overall regional sales rose more than 10%, with a median home price of $282,000 and continued strong buyer demand despite limited inventory.
