Home sales and prices fall in Conroe and Montgomery (communityimpact.com) — Home sales and prices in several parts of Conroe have slipped compared with last year, with northeast Conroe seeing the sharpest sales drop and downtown Conroe among the few areas with price gains. Days on market have swung widely, more than doubling downtown while shrinking significantly east of Lake Conroe and in nearby Willis, signaling a shifting local real estate landscape.
   

2. Best Oktoberfest Houston 2026 Events: Games, Music & Contests (houstononthecheap.com) — Conroe families can mark their calendars for Sacred Heart Catholic School's free Fall Festival on October 17, featuring a children's carnival, games, live music, food, and a beer garden. The broader guide also highlights Oktoberfest-themed runs, brewery parties, and family-friendly celebrations across Greater Houston, Galveston, Sugar Land, Katy, and Kemah throughout late September and October.
   

3. Montgomery awards $8.35M contract for Water Plant No. 4 (communityimpact.com) — Residents in the Conroe–Montgomery area may notice long-term benefits as Montgomery moves forward with an $8.35 million Water Plant No. 4, adding a new well and elevated storage tank. Funded through 2026 certificates of obligation, the project has a 500-day construction window and could eventually host telecom equipment, while leftover federal funds are being shifted to public safety payroll.
   

4. "Thanks for all the memories, brother": Man found dead in hunting club fire remembered (kfdm.com) — A well-known Houston-area realtor who served clients in Conroe, Spring, The Woodlands, and Magnolia has been identified as the man found dead after a wildfire at a Jasper County hunting club. Friends remember him for his relationship-focused approach to real estate and his love of helping people, while investigators continue working to determine how he died and what sparked the blaze.
