His family says he took a knife wound to the heart and is pleading for witnesses to come forward. They're focused on his recovery and urging anyone with information to contact investigators.

Dallas Police arrested the 54-year-old driver, who allegedly fled officers before colliding with multiple vehicles, and he remains in Dallas County Jail while the child continues physical therapy and prepares to meet his kindergarten teacher.
   

4. Jazz BeCuzz to Celebrate Music, Arts and Community Impact at Oct. 10 Brunch (northdallasgazette.com) — An upcoming Jazz BeCuzz Jazz Brunch & Community Awards in nearby Garland will honor people and organizations serving the Dallas–Fort Worth community while raising money for arts education and programming. Guests can expect live jazz, food, and community impact awards recognizing local contributors. Proceeds will support creative opportunities and arts experiences across the DFW area, with sponsorships still available.
