Trackdown: Suspect robs two delivery drivers during Oak Cliff crime spree (fox4news.com) — Dallas Police are asking Oak Cliff residents for help identifying a knife-wielding suspect who robbed two delivery drivers minutes apart near Fort Worth Avenue and later at Hampton Road and Illinois Avenue. Surveillance video from the 7-Eleven shows the man threatening a Frito-Lay driver before stealing his truck; anyone with information is urged to contact Det. Andres Sanchez.

Dallas could save community pools, library programs for another year (dallasnews.com) — Dallas leaders are weighing last-minute budget changes that could keep six neighborhood pools open, preserve adult education classes, and boost spay-and-neuter surgeries for another year. City Council members are shifting settlement funds and other line items to protect key Dallas programs while debating cuts like holiday pay and survey contracts before adopting the $5.6 billion budget on Sept. 16.
   

3. Mavericks are helping provide free State Fair of Texas tickets for teens. Here's how to get them (dallasnews.com) — Dallas teens can snag free State Fair of Texas tickets thanks to a new partnership between the Mavericks and Dallas Park & Recreation. Residents aged 13–17 who live in the City of Dallas can pick up passes at any city recreation center during normal hours, then redeem them for admission when the fair runs Sept. 25–Oct. 18 at Fair Park.
   

4. Dallas businesses, residents brace for road closures, security ahead of RNC midterm convention (cbsnews.com) — Dallas residents and businesses around Victory Park are bracing for road closures, heavy security, and big crowds as the Republican National Committee Midterm Convention arrives next week at American Airlines Center. Streets near Victory Avenue, Nowitzki Way, and Houston Street will see rolling closures Sept. 7–11, affecting clinic appointments, daily commutes, and neighborhood routines while thousands attend rallies and meetings.
