Irving Traffic Stop Leads to Meth, Cocaine Arrest on Belt Line Road (irvingweekly.com) — An evening traffic stop on North Belt Line Road in Irving led police to arrest a local woman after they say she admitted carrying meth and cocaine packaged in multiple small baggies. Officers also arrested the driver for lacking a license, and federal immigration authorities requested a hold, underscoring ongoing enforcement along one of the city's busiest corridors.
   

2. Irving Stolen Car Suspect Arrested After 100-Mph Chase on I-30 (irvingweekly.com) — Irving police used a vehicle-tracking system to follow a stolen Toyota Corolla taken from a Subway on North MacArthur, leading to a 100-mph pursuit that ended with the car abandoned near the Dallas-Richardson border. Officers later arrested a suspect, booked him into Irving Jail on felony theft and evading charges, and noted an additional warrant from Bexar County.
   

3. DFW Apartment Absorption Nears 20K Units, Leading the Nation (credaily.com) — A major Las Colinas apartment community in Irving has just been acquired and rebranded as The Louis Las Colinas, with new owners planning interior renovations, amenity upgrades, and exterior improvements. Their deal is part of a broader surge in Dallas-Fort Worth apartment demand, where nearly 20,000 units were absorbed by mid-2026 even as rents stayed slightly lower, drawing in investors chasing future rent growth.
   

4. Jordan Matter is doing a full-day AMA at VidSummit so younger creators can learn everything he knows (tubefilter.com) — If you're heading to VidSummit at the Irving Convention Center, YouTuber Jordan Matter will host an all-day open Q&A on Sept. 30 where creators can drop in anytime for advice. With 15 years on YouTube, a Netflix deal, and a hit channel built around his daughter Salish, he plans to share practical strategies on branding, storytelling, and growing a creator business.
   

5. South Grand Prairie linebacker's perfectly timed play helps defeat Irving MacArthur (dallasnews.com) — Irving MacArthur's football team fell 35-20 in its District 8-6A opener after South Grand Prairie broke the game open with a 75-yard interception return in the fourth quarter. MacArthur still showed promise, with standout rushing from sophomore Jayden Burnett and solid passing by senior quarterback Brock Casas-Willis, but missed chances and late injuries kept the Cardinals from a comeback.
