• KFC's new restaurant concept will offer breakfast, boba and table service (nbc4i.com) — McKinney is getting KFC's first-ever Open House restaurant on Sept. 26, bringing breakfast, boba drinks, late-night hours and table service to town. This prototype location will test new menu items and design ideas, with a special celebration planned Sunday, giving local diners an early look at changes that could shape KFC restaurants nationwide.
   

• Avelo Adds 4 McKinney Routes, Third Jet At DTX (dallasexpress.com) — McKinney residents will soon gain nine nonstop destinations as Avelo Airlines adds four new routes and bases a third jet at McKinney National Airport, starting commercial service in November. The expansion is expected to create about 150 local jobs and coincides with the Veterans Day opening of the airport's new passenger terminal, positioning McKinney as Avelo's fifth operating base.
   

• Alleged Guatemalan drug lord flown to McKinney to face federal charges – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth (nbcdfw.com) — McKinney National Airport served as the entry point for an alleged Guatemalan cartel figure and three others extradited to face federal charges in the Eastern District of Texas. Local residents may notice increased federal activity as prosecutors use area courts and the airport as key hubs in broader efforts against international drug trafficking and corruption networks.
