Emerson, once projected first overall, is now slotted to the San Francisco Giants at No. 4, keeping a local high school star firmly in the national spotlight.
   

• Families say North Richland Hills neighbors killed in crash had ‘incredible bond' (star-telegram.com) — Two North Richland Hills neighbors, 72-year-old Collette Morrissey and 52-year-old Somloudee “Cookie” Roberts, were killed June 2 in a crash with an 18-wheeler on eastbound Loop 820 near Holiday Lane. North Richland Hills police say the fire department had to extricate both women, who died at the scene, and family tributes describe their close friendship, community involvement, and the joy they brought to loved ones.
