Officials are weighing short-term barriers and long-term upgrades, though funding will be competitive statewide. The UT Marine Science Institute's expanded network, plus live ship-channel cameras, aims to help boaters, anglers, surfers, and emergency managers make safer decisions during everyday outings and major storms alike along the Texas coast.
