Round Rock moves forward with connected trail system (roundrocktexas.gov) — Round Rock has approved an updated Trails Master Plan and a construction contract for Heritage Trail East, closing a major gap along Brushy Creek and improving east–west connections across the city. Over the next 18 months, residents can expect new links between neighborhoods, parks, schools, and downtown, all funded through the 2023 voter-approved bond program.

Round Rock ISD celebrates opening of Boys & Girls Clubs at 10 campuses (communityimpact.com) — Families in Round Rock ISD now have free, on-campus after-school care at 10 elementary schools, with programs running until 6 p.m. on school days. Kids get homework help, tutoring, and enrichment activities through Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area, funded by a major state grant for the 2026-27 school year and beyond.
   

3. Affidavit details gruesome, unprovoked stabbing of former Texas A&M researcher at Round Rock park (kbtx.com) — Residents in Round Rock are learning more about a deadly Labor Day stabbing at a Chandler Creek neighborhood park that left a retired Texas A&M Transportation Institute engineer dead. Newly released court records outline graphic surveillance footage, the suspect's arrest after a nearby McDonald's sighting, and ongoing murder charges in Williamson County, prompting concern and calls for legislative action.
   

4. KOKE Announces Fall 2026 Backporch Live Music Series Lineup (kokefm.com) — Live music fans in Round Rock can catch free Thursday-night shows all fall at Backporch Social, thanks to KOKE's Backporch Live Music Series. From October 1 through December 17, a rotating lineup of Texas artists, holiday parties, and special themed nights will bring two hours of music each week without a cover charge.
