• Williamson County Sheriff's Office Investigates Labor Day Killing in Round Rock (newsradioklbj.com) — A person was found dead Monday morning at a park off Chandler Creek Boulevard in Round Rock, and Williamson County deputies have ruled the case a homicide. Investigators released images of a suspect considered dangerous and are urging anyone who recognizes him to call 911, especially with the crime scene so close to Double File Trail Elementary School. 
• Round Rock acquires land for Kenney Fort extension, adds funding for future parcels (communityimpact.com) — Round Rock officials have approved buying just over 8 acres to push the Kenney Fort Boulevard extension northward and set aside $15.5 million more for future right-of-way purchases, including Wyoming Springs Drive. Funded through the city's Type B sales tax corporation, these moves position the city to secure remaining parcels as land costs rise and traffic demands grow.
