• New students arrive at UVM as city, campus step up safety measures (wcax.com) — New UVM students are moving into Burlington just as the city and campus roll out heightened safety efforts, including hotlines, resource lists, and the CatSafe app. Local leaders stress that downtown safety is a priority while students say they feel prepared but plan to stay aware when heading off campus. 
• South Burlington pedestrian bridge site construction creates noise frustration (wcax.com) — Construction on the new I-89 walk-bike bridge in South Burlington is creating louder-than-expected jackhammer noise for nearby residents as crews remove unexpected bedrock. City officials say they've limited noisy work to daytime hours and expect this phase to wrap up next week, with the Burlington-connecting bridge slated for completion in 2028.
