• FCPS starts new school year with full cellphone ban, fewer crossing guards and other changes (ffxnow.com) — Annandale High School students are returning to class under a full cellphone ban and without police crossing guards, meaning families must plan for busier, less-controlled streets around campus. Fairfax County Public Schools are also tightening rules on student technology use, expanding virtual mental health services, and adding weapons screening and stricter bag policies at football games that will affect many Annandale families.
