Dulles Is Getting New Nonstop Flights To Milan And Toulouse

WASHINGTON DULLES, VA — United Airlines plans to add nonstop flights from Washington Dulles International Airport to Milan, Italy, and Toulouse, France, in 2027 as part of what the carrier described as the largest expansion in its history.

Daily service from Dulles to Toulouse is scheduled to begin April 26, while flights to Milan will begin May 28 and operate three times a week, according to an announcement Tuesday from United.

The airline said the routes will be the only nonstop flights connecting the Washington, D.C., region with either European city. Toulouse will also be a new destination for United and one that no other U.S. airline serves.

Toulouse Flights To Use New Airbus Aircraft

The Toulouse route will use United’s new Airbus A321XLR, a single-aisle aircraft designed for longer international flights.

Flights will depart Dulles daily at 6:05 p.m. and arrive in Toulouse at 8:15 a.m. the following day. Return service will begin April 27, departing Toulouse at 10:15 a.m. and arriving at Dulles at 1:25 p.m.

United will operate the Milan route using a Boeing 767-300ER. Flights will leave Dulles at 5:40 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, arriving at 8:15 a.m. the next day.

Return flights will begin May 29 and operate Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. They will depart Milan at 10:20 a.m. and arrive at Dulles at 1:55 p.m.

“United connects the D.C. region to the world, and these new European destinations give Washingtonians even more places to explore nonstop from Dulles,” Henry Bird, managing director of United’s Dulles hub, said in a statement.

Dulles To Host International Debut Of Airbus A321XLR

Before the Toulouse route begins, Dulles will become the first United hub to use the Airbus A321XLR on international flights, the airline said.

The aircraft is scheduled to begin serving existing routes from Dulles to Amsterdam and Dublin on Dec. 1, following its initial use on select domestic routes.

United said the plane will feature Polaris business-class suites with privacy doors, Starlink Wi-Fi, 4K screens with Bluetooth connectivity and a snack bar in economy. Its Economy Plus seating will include an option providing passengers with additional space and access to a shared table across an unoccupied middle seat.

The airline has added or announced several other destinations from Dulles in 2026, including Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Orange County, California; Reykjavík, Iceland; Halifax and Québec City in Canada; Los Cabos, Mexico; Liberia, Costa Rica; and Cartagena, Colombia.

United flies from Dulles to more than 40 international destinations, including nearly 20 national capitals. The airport’s new Concourse E is also expected to open later in 2026 with 14 additional United gates and a new United Club.
