• Motorcyclist Seriously Injured In Annandale Crash: Report (patch.com) — Annandale drivers faced major disruption after a serious motorcycle crash at Braddock and Pine roads sent an adult rider to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Fairfax County Police closed eastbound Braddock Road at Clifton Street for crash reconstruction, urging motorists to seek alternate routes while investigators worked the scene.
   

• Immigrant advocacy nonprofit to open community center in Annandale (ffxnow.com) — A new 11,000-square-foot Fairfax Welcome Center is coming to Little River Turnpike in Annandale, bringing workforce training, youth programs, legal clinics, and other services aimed at immigrant and working-class residents. Nonprofit We Are CASA expects to partially open by late 2027 and ultimately serve about 3,500 people in its first two years, focusing on Annandale's large foreign-born community.
   

• FCPS starts new school year with full cellphone ban, fewer crossing guards and other changes (ffxnow.com) — Annandale High School students will start the new year without crossing guards, after Fairfax County cut high school positions to save money and ease police staffing. FCPS is also enforcing a full school-day cellphone ban, tightening tech and AI use, expanding mental health teletherapy, and adding weapons screening and clear-bag rules at football games.
