ARLINGTON, VA — Active-duty Marine Kyle King won the 51st annual Marine Corps Marathon for the third consecutive year and fourth time in five years Sunday.

When NBC4 asked if the race was getting easier each time, King said the opposite was true.

“I’d say it gets harder each time," he said. "The pressure’s always there. I mean, this year was especially intimidating.”

Next year’s event is currently scheduled for Oct. 31 — Halloween.
