Arlington Blood Drive Set For Friday As Inova Seeks Donors

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington residents will have an opportunity Friday to donate blood as Inova Blood Donor Services works to maintain the region's blood supply heading into Labor Day weekend.

An Inova Blood Donor Services Bloodmobile will be at Fire Works Pizza, 2350 Clarendon Blvd. in Arlington's Court House neighborhood, from 12:30-5:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4.

Inova needs approximately 200 people to donate blood, red cells, platelets and plasma each day to meet the needs of patients across the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. Donors of all blood types are being sought.

Blood Drive Planned Friday In Court House

Friday's event continues a partnership between Fire Works Pizza and Inova Blood Donor Services that brings the organization's Bloodmobile into Arlington.

People who donate Friday will receive a $10 e-gift card while supplies last. Donors must complete the screening process to qualify for the gift card, which generally arrives by email within seven to 10 business days.

A photo ID is required, and donors should plan to spend about an hour completing the donation process. Appointments are strongly encouraged.
