Arlington Woman Dies After E-Scooter Crash In Rosslyn
An Arlington woman died from injuries she received when the e-scooter she was riding was struck by a chartered bus, according to authorities
ARLINGTON, VA — An April 18 e-scooter crash in Rosslyn is now a fatal crash after the injured rider died at a hospital on Sunday, according to police.
Public safety personnel were dispatched at about 5:30 p.m. to investigate the report a crash involving an e-scooter and a chartered bus at the intersection of Langston Boulevard and Fort Myer Drive, according to police. Investigators determined that the driver of the charter bus was turning right onto Langston Boulevard from Fort Myer Drive when he struck the e-scooter operator in the crosswalk.
The e-scooter operator was taken to an area hospital with critical injuries, police reported. In spite of life-saving efforts, the victim, identified as 45-year-old Leah Carlomusto of Arlington, died at the hospital.

The charter bus driver was identified by police as Luis Barreto Irizarry, 45, of Haines, Florida. Police said he remained at the scene after the crash and was cited at the time with failure to yield. He was released on a summons, according to the department.
