Teen Charged After Knife Fight, Officer Assault In Arlington Mill
A teen boy faces multiple charges after allegedly brandishing a knife during a fight on Columbia Pike and resisting arrest.
ARLINGTON, VA — A teenage boy is facing multiple charges after a reported fight Friday night in the Arlington Mill area, according to police.
Police were dispatched shortly before 9 p.m. to the 5000 block of Columbia Pike. to investigate the report of a fight. The preliminary investigation indicates that a male victim and a male suspect, who are known to each other, became engaged in a fight outside. During the fight, the suspect allegedly produced a knife and attempted to strike the victim, according to police.
When officers arrived, an officer observed the suspect and gave him commands to stop, police reported. The suspect ignored the commands and ran from the officer, according to police. The officer began a foot pursuit and, with the assistance of another officer, located and detained the suspect in the area of Columbia Pike and South Dinwiddie Street.

Police said the suspect remained uncooperative and combative while in custody. According to police, the suspect assaulted an officer and threatened an officer while being held.
The suspect was identified by police only as a juvenile male in his teens. Petitions were obtained for attempted malicious wounding, wssault on police, two counts of obstruction of justice, and tobacco possession by minor, according to police.
