New VIP Terminal Coming To This Washington Area Airport

A new VIP terminal with its own parking, security, baggage handling and lounge areas is coming soon to a major Northern Virginia travel hub.

DULLES, VA – A new VIP terminal with dedicated parking, private security screening, separate lounges and more is coming to Dulles International Airport, according to a release from the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority.

According to the MWAA, the new 37,000-square-foot terminal will offer commercial airline passengers an additional premium option when departing and arriving from Dulles. The new terminal promises dedicated parking separate from the main terminal, private security screening, suites and other amenities separate from other concourses, personalized check-in and baggage handling and premium vehicle transport to the gate and aircraft.

Irish state-owned airport management, consulting and investment company daa International has contracted to develop the new terminal over the next 30 months and operate it for the next 20 years, according to the MWAA.

The MWAA says the VIP terminal will be the first of its kind in the Washington metropolitan area. In the release, MWAA Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer Chryssa Westerlund said the new project is a response to traveler demand.

Earlier in October, NetJets announced that it would build a new private terminal for its share-or-lease private jet access clients and said Dulles was one of its travelers’ top five destinations. This terminal would be only for private jet travelers using the airport.
