• Another 65 Pounds Of This Stimulant Seized At VA Airport (patch.com) — Residents near Ashburn may be concerned after authorities at Dulles International Airport in Sterling seized another 65 pounds of the illegal stimulant khat from a traveler arriving from Morocco. Customs officials say khat smuggling through the airport has surged, with tens of thousands of pounds intercepted in recent years and the suspect now facing a misdemeanor drug charge.
   

• ICE Detainer Lodged For Sterling Man Suspected Of Involvement In LCPS High School Overdoses (patch.com) — Families in and around Ashburn may take note as a Sterling man faces serious drug charges tied to suspected fentanyl overdoses among Park View High School students and now has an ICE detainer lodged against him. The case highlights Loudoun County's cooperation with federal immigration authorities under a 287(g) agreement and ongoing concerns about student drug use.
   

• Commanders LB Leo Chenal has neck surgery and QB Jayden Daniels to return to practice this week (dcnewsnow.com) — From the Commanders' Ashburn facility, coach Dan Quinn says linebacker Leo Chenal's neck surgery went well and confirms quarterback Jayden Daniels will return to practice in some capacity this week.
