Six new principals will lead diocesan schools (catholicherald.com) — St. Veronica School in Chantilly has promoted longtime assistant principal Elizabeth Gallagher to lead the school, bringing more than three decades of Catholic education experience. The piece also highlights other new principals across Northern Virginia Catholic schools, including one educator who previously taught math at St. Veronica in Chantilly.
   

5. Virginia Task Force 1 welcomed home after deployment for earthquake in Colombia (fox5dc.com subscription) — Members of Virginia Task Force 1 have just returned to Chantilly after a deployment to Colombia, where they helped assess damage and support rescue efforts following a deadly 7.4-magnitude earthquake. Family and friends greeted the Northern Virginia-based team Thursday night as they came home from their targeted mission, which focused on structural safety for homes, hospitals, and other critical buildings.
