• Salary bonus approved for Mecklenburg County employees (sovanow.com) — Mecklenburg County supervisors approved a one-time 2% salary bonus for county employees and reviewed several projects that will affect services and traffic across the county. For Chase City residents, the Joint Education Committee and School Board will meet July 9 at the Chase City Elementary School construction site, as the division also moves toward hiring a new superintendent. The board also advanced road work, jail refinancing, and new convenience center operations.
