• Target 7: Community Health Center expanding to serve more in the New River Valley (wdbj7.com) — A Christiansburg-based community health center is planning a major new facility in town to expand medical, dental, and addiction treatment services for New River Valley residents. The Roanoke Street headquarters is already overcrowded, with long dental waitlists and growing demand from Medicaid, Medicare, and uninsured patients. A fundraising campaign is underway to close a multimillion-dollar gap and bring more providers and services under one roof.

• I-81 Exit 114 Park and Ride now open (montcova.com) — A new 80-space Park and Ride lot has opened just off I-81 Exit 114 in Christiansburg, giving residents a convenient spot to park and connect with carpools, bikes, or Blacksburg Transit. The lot includes a bus shelter, bike racks, lighting, sidewalks, and a crosswalk tying into existing pedestrian routes, and can be accessed from Route 666 (Mud Pike).

• Christiansburg man, woman arrested following child sex crimes investigation: Sheriff (wset.com) — Two Christiansburg residents were recently arrested after investigators executed a search warrant in Pulaski County, leading to multiple serious child-exploitation-related charges, authorities say. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reports both suspects are being held without bond at Western Virginia Regional Jail, and no additional details are being released at this time.
