1. Christiansburg Library celebrates 40 years (montcova.com) — Christiansburg residents are invited to a 40th anniversary celebration at the Christiansburg Library’s Sheltman Street location on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The free, family-friendly event will feature live local music, a petting zoo, bounce house, concessions, and a silent auction supporting the library’s capital campaign, all marking four decades in the current building. 
2. New College Street bids approved (montcova.com) — Christiansburg Town Council has approved more than $3.1 million for Phase II of the College Street drainage improvements, targeting long-standing flooding issues. Work will add new storm pipes, a stormwater basin, utility relocations, and sidewalk and paving upgrades, with construction expected to begin this fall and last up to a year.

Community Health Center of the New River Valley Earns Four National Awards for Quality, Access and Innovation (pcpatriot.com) — Christiansburg’s Community Health Center of the New River Valley has earned four national awards recognizing its quality of care, heart health outcomes, expanded access, and smart use of telehealth and technology. With a Christiansburg location serving all ages regardless of ability to pay, the center highlights its ongoing push to grow services while keeping care affordable across the New River Valley.
4. Virginia Gas Prices: Cheapest and most expensive places to fill up - August 17, 2026 (wsls.com) — Drivers in the Blacksburg–Christiansburg–Radford area are paying about $3.80 for regular gas, slightly above the statewide average of $3.76 per gallon. Premium and diesel prices here are also outlined, giving New River Valley commuters a clear snapshot of how local pump costs compare across Virginia.
