• New book examines East Mont electric problems (montcova.com) — Longtime Elliston and Shawsville residents will recognize the power outage frustrations chronicled in a new book about Eastern Montgomery’s fight for better electric service. Author Richard Sarver traces outages from 1989–2024, local activism, and Senator Madison Marye’s advocacy, with the booklet now popular among Ironto, Bradshaw, and Elliston neighbors and sold to benefit Shawsville’s Meadowbrook Museum.

• Blues Reach Pioneer Final (thenews-gazette.com) — Elliston hosted a lopsided Pioneer District softball championship, where Eastern Montgomery routed Parry McCluer 23–1 to claim the title. Earlier in the week, PM had secured a regional berth by beating Narrows, and now prepares to host George Wythe in the Region 1C quarterfinals.
