• Hypergoat Coffee Roasters Coming to Del Ray in Alexandria (thezebra.org) — A new Hypergoat Coffee Roasters cafe and roastery is being built in Del Ray at 2423 Mount Vernon Ave., transforming the former First Agape Baptist Community building. While there's no opening date yet, residents can already sample Hypergoat's ethically sourced coffee at their existing Alexandria shop on N. Payne Street or at the Burke Farmers Market.
   

• Bagel Uprising Heads to 2026 New York BagelFest (thezebra.org) — Del Ray's own Bagel Uprising, based at 2307A Mount Vernon Ave., will represent the entire DMV at the 2026 New York BagelFest in November. The neighborhood favorite, which grew from farmers market pop-ups to a busy storefront and a new Ballston location, will compete against top bagel makers from around the world at Citi Field.
   

• ALX Pink Gala Returns to Alexandria on Sept. 25, 2026 (thezebra.org) — A breast cancer fundraiser with strong ties to Old Town and Del Ray returns when the ALX Pink Gala takes over Above ALX Community on Sept. 25. The event supports Breast Cancer Collective's work expanding access to mammograms and diagnostic care for local women, highlighted through the story of survivor and longtime Del Ray resident Dayna Blumel.
