• More than 10,000 Alexandria customers lose power Tuesday morning, with no cause given (alexandriabrief.com) — Thousands of Alexandria residents, including many in Del Ray, woke up Tuesday to widespread Dominion Energy outages that at one point cut power to more than 10,000 customers citywide. While service was partially restored within hours, several large outages around Del Ray, Potomac Yard, and Northeast Alexandria lingered into the day, with causes still under investigation and officials urging drivers to treat dark signals as four-way stops.

• Alexandria Has Food. The Challenge Is Getting It to the People Who Need It (thezebra.org) — Del Ray residents facing food insecurity have multiple nearby options, including ALIVE!'s Del Ray Community Food Hub on Mount Vernon Avenue and regular "Fill the Truck" drives at the neighborhood farmers' market. This citywide guide lists where and when Alexandrians can get free groceries, hot meals, and home delivery through the end of 2026, with details on hours, locations, and language support.

• Alexandria's Hospitality Heroes: The Restaurant Workers Making Dining Better (thezebra.org) — Alexandria's restaurant scene is getting some well-deserved love, and Del Ray workers are explicitly included in a proposed "Hospitality Heroes" list celebrating front-of-house and behind-the-scenes staff. The story highlights award-winning managers and banquet leaders across the city, and invites residents to think about the unsung servers, dishwashers, and hotel staff who make dining out in Alexandria's neighborhoods feel welcoming and memorable.
