Road Rage Victims, Attacker In Beltway Crash Identified

At the scene were four stabbing victims, including a woman who died, police said. The names of the victims and their attacker were released.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — Authorities have released the names of a McLean man police said was killed by a Virginia trooper after the man confronted the trooper with a knife following a fatal stabbing and a crash on Interstate 495, according to state police.

The name of the victims were also released Monday. Michelle Adams, 39, died from her injuries, and a dog was also fatally stabbed. The other three victims — Dana Bonnell, 36, Mary C. Flood, 37, and Heather Miller, 40 — were all taken to area hospitals with serious injuries, police said.

Virginia State Police on Monday said the fatal confrontation followed a road rage crash about 1:20 p.m. Sunday on southbound Interstate 495 at Exit 52 in Fairfax County.

"When the trooper arrived on scene, he was confronted by a male suspect carrying a knife,” police said. “The trooper then shot the suspect in self-defense.”

Police said the suspect was Jared Llamado, 32, of McLean, who was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries. Llamado later died from at the hospital. The trooper was not injured.

The preliminary investigation indicates the stabbings occurred following a crash on Interstate 495 southbound that police said was a case of road rage.

The Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation Fairfax Field Office is investigating the shooting, according to police, who said the trooper was not injured.

All southbound lanes were closed in the area Sunday afternoon, with traffic backed up about four miles, according to the state transportation department.
