• Fairfax City meetings go offline, as FBI warns of AI-detected vulnerabilities (ffxnow.com) — City of Fairfax residents currently can’t access council meeting videos, agendas, or documents online because vendor Granicus took its Media Manager platform offline over a serious PHP security vulnerability. The issue is tied to FBI-flagged risks affecting governments worldwide, and while fixes are being developed, city officials don’t yet know when online meeting access will be restored.
   

• Connecticut Avenue Shooting Leaves 22-Year-Old Dead, Woman Wounded (shorenewsnetwork.com) — A 22-year-old man from Fairfax was shot and killed early Sunday on Connecticut Avenue near Dupont Circle, leaving his family grieving miles from home. DC police say another woman was wounded, a nearby business window was hit, and investigators are still searching for suspects while offering a $25,000 reward for information.
   

• Merging DASH and 3 other bus systems ‘could be more or less expensive,' state study finds (alexandriabrief.com) — Regional transit leaders, including officials from Fairfax County and the City of Fairfax, are pushing back on a state study suggesting a possible merger of DASH and three neighboring bus systems. They argue they want better coordination, not consolidation, after findings showed a merger might save little and could even increase operating costs by up to 9 percent.
