Alexandria Man Arrested After Camera Shows Him Inside Fairfax City Apartment: Police (patch.com) — City of Fairfax police arrested a 43-year-old Alexandria man after a home camera showed him inside a Fairfax Boulevard apartment while the resident was away. Officers responded to the eastern edge of Fairfax City, took the acquaintance into custody, and charged him with trespassing and unlawful entry before holding him without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

DACA recipients in Fairfax County concerned about delayed renewals (ffxnow.com) — DACA recipients living in Fairfax County are facing unusually long renewal delays that could cost them jobs and protection from deportation, including one Fairfax medical professional whose status may lapse around July 4. Local Congressman James Walkinshaw met with affected residents, urging them to contact his office for case help while he pushes for a long-term path to citizenship in Congress.

FCPS: State police, Congress close investigations into Centreville HS abortion claims (ffxnow.com) — State police and a U.S. Senate committee have closed their investigations into a Centreville High School teacher’s claims that Fairfax County Public Schools staff facilitated abortions without parental consent, finding no evidence of wrongdoing. Fairfax County calls for preemptive strikes against emerging spotted lanternflies (ffxnow.com) — Fairfax County officials are urging residents to kill spotted lanternfly nymphs now, before they mature and further damage local trees and plants later this summer. The county’s urban forestry team recommends squashing, vacuuming, or carefully using soapy water, and is also targeting the invasive tree of heaven while asking residents to report locations through an online mapping system.
