3-Vehicle Crash Blocks Eastbound Main Street In Fairfax City

Firefighters and police were at the scene of an early morning crash on Main Street near the Fairview Drive/Orchard Drive intersection.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — City of Fairfax fire and rescue personnel were on the scene of the three-vehicle crash Thursday morning at the intersection of Main Street and Fairview Drive/Orchard Drive.

Just after 7:30 a.m., firefighters, City of Fairfax Police and a Fairfax County sheriff's deputy were waiting for the three vehicles to be hauled away.

A firefighter could be seen talking to the driver of the maroon SUV, while the two other vehicles — a white sedan and silver SUV — appeared to be unoccupied.

All eastbound lanes on Main Street were blocked, creating gridlock from Fairview Drive all the way back to Locust Street near the Fairfax City Museum and Visitor Center. Westbound traffic was unaffected by the crash.

Police were diverting one lane of traffic onto Fairview Drive, leaving drivers to navigate through the Farrcroft neighborhood back to Main Street via Duncan Street and Tedrich Boulevard.
