The Last Osprey tells the story of one of nature’s most awe-inspiring birds of prey and the critical threat it currently faces in the Chesapeake Bay. These birds are masterful hunters and global travelers that serve as a living indicator of our planet's health. However, the film reveals a darker reality: osprey chicks in the Bay are starving to death due to a man-made lack of food.
The documentary pulls back the curtain on a high-stakes battle involving conservationists, commercial fishing interests, and politicians—all jockeying for the power to decide the fate of the ecosystem. Ultimately, the film demonstrates how the death of these birds is the direct outcome of a human struggle for money and prestige.

Enjoy a free guided walking tour through Old Town Fairfax. See the original Courthouse (built in 1800) where George and Martha Washington’s wills are stored. Explore sites of Civil War violence, espionage, and unlikely romance centered around that Rebel bandit, John S. Mosby. And discover local grandees like Ratcliffe, Farr, and Willard, whose legacies formed our City.
The tour starts at the front of the Historic Fairfax Courthouse (corner of Main St. and Chain Bridge Rd.)

to nature and history. Experiencing
history through outdoor mindfulness at Woodlawn &amp; Pope-Leighey House.
About
the Session:
The
sessions are approximately 90-minutes long and are conducted in relative
silence. They include warm-ups, centering, and breathing exercises to connect
participants to their bodies and the world around them. These are followed by a
walk and an extended sit which encourages participants to become more fully
open and present to their surroundings. We conclude with a returning ritual and
a chance to reflect on the experience. This time in nature will not be
strenuous; most abilities can be accommodated. All ages are welcomed but
children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.&nbsp;
