I-66 Express Donates $22K To Fairfax Student STEM Programs

FAIRFAX, VA — I-66 Express Mobility Partners has donated $22,000 to Educate Fairfax to support student opportunity programs, STEM education initiatives and scholarships for Fairfax County Public Schools students.

The donation includes $15,000 to expand student access and opportunity through Educate Fairfax programs, including the Kids In Need Fund and STEM-focused educational initiatives. An additional $7,000 will provide scholarships for students attending the nonprofit's Career and Technical Education Summer STEM Camp, according to the organization.

Longtime Partnership Continues

The donation continues a partnership between I-66 Express Mobility Partners, operator of the 66 Express Outside the Beltway, and Educate Fairfax that began in 2019.

"Our partnership with I-66 EMP truly makes a difference for students across the county," Educate Fairfax Executive Director Dr. Lynette Henry said in a statement. "Over the years, their incredible support for our initiatives has made a strong positive impact on public education in Fairfax County and the kids we're preparing for the future."

Nancy H. Smith, director of corporate affairs for I-66 Express Mobility Partners, said supporting education remains a key focus of the company's community outreach efforts.

"Educate Fairfax offers meaningful programs that help students access resources, explore STEM education and prepare for future career opportunities," Smith said. "We are proud to continue supporting that important work."

The partnership began with funding for STEM education initiatives at Stenwood Elementary School and Marshall Road Elementary School during the Transform 66 construction project. Since then, it has expanded to include student opportunity programs, classroom resources, workforce development efforts and career exploration opportunities across Fairfax County.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I-66 Express Mobility Partners also contributed $67,500 to Educate Fairfax's Access for All Fund to support students and families. In recent years, the company has continued providing annual funding and scholarships for programs such as the Career and Technical Education Summer STEM Camp and Tech Adventure Camp.

Educate Fairfax is the nonprofit educational foundation supporting Fairfax County Public Schools, which serves more than 181,000 students.
