The GUTTS Program includes Plumbing and HVACR Apprentice Courses that provide individuals with classroom and lab training segueing into jobs and apprenticeships. After completing the course, GUTTS provides students with PHCC (Plumbing Heating Coolant Contractors) Certificate and GUTTS Certification of 72 Hours toward Accredited Apprenticeship and a tool bag with all the hand tools needed start on their first day as an apprentice. The Fairfax County 250th Commission is sponsoring a free screening of the movie ”1776”— a classical tale of the struggle to pass the Declaration of Independence — at the James Lee Community Center in Falls Church September 18 at 7 p.m.
Come enjoy this musical retelling of the American Revolution's political struggle in the Continental Congress to declare independence. In the days leading up to July 4, 1776, Continental Congressmen John Adams and Benjamin Franklin coerce Thomas Jefferson into writing the Declaration of Independence as a delaying tactic as they try to persuade the American colonies to support a resolution on independence. As George Washington sends depressing messages describing one military disaster after another, the businessmen, landowners and slave holders in Congress all stand in the way of the Declaration, and a single "nay" vote will forever end the question of independence. Large portions of spoken and sung dialog are taken directly from the letters and memoirs of the actual participants.
The James Lee Community Center is located at 2855 Annandale Rd., Falls Church, VA 22042. The show begins at 7 p.m. No tickets required. Doors open 6: 30. First come. First seated.

The LSO is celebrating its 35th anniversary and for its season opener is collaborating with the Master Singers of Virginia and Loudoun Lyric Opera to present Beethoven’s glorious masterwork, Symphony No. 9, which has never been performed in Loudoun County! The 9th broke traditional rules of classical music, by adding human voices to a symphony. It also turned the famous “Ode to Joy” into a global anthem for human unity.
