• 'Wind Phones' Let People Say Things to Lost Loved Ones (washingtonian.com) — A Falls Church resident is working to create a "wind phone" here as a quiet place where people can speak to loved ones they've lost, inspired by a similar installation in Gaithersburg. The project, honoring a friend killed by a car in Falls Church in June, is in early stages as organizers seek a location and city approvals to make the space available to anyone grieving.

• Goddard School Students Become Journalists for World News Day (washingtonfamily.com) — Young students at The Goddard School of Falls Church recently spent a day acting as "junior journalists," interviewing classmates, reporting classroom happenings, and even talking with real reporters for World News Day. The activities, part of the school's inquiry-based learning program, aimed to nurture kids' natural curiosity and show how asking good questions helps them better understand their world.
