• Falls Church eyes $2.5M contract for sidewalk, intersection upgrades (arlnow.com) — Falls Church is preparing to approve a $2.45 million construction contract to widen sidewalks, upgrade intersections, and add a new pedestrian signal along W. Broad Street between West Street and Virginia Avenue. Work could begin in February, last about 13 months, and mostly affect sidewalks and driveways while aiming to minimize traffic disruption. City leaders say the upgrades will improve safety and support businesses in the city's busiest commercial corridor.
   

• Virginia man pretended to be an FBI agent at a 2024 polling site to feel respected, court documents say (13newsnow.com) — A Falls Church polling place at Timber Lane Elementary was the scene of a 2024 Election Day scare, when an Annandale man showed up twice impersonating an FBI agent with a fake badge and air pistol. He's now pleaded guilty and faces up to three years in prison, with sentencing set for January 14, 2027.
