• Stafford Supervisors Approve Tax Rate Hike Amid Resident Affordability Pleas (potomaclocal.com) — Stafford County has approved a 2026 real estate tax rate that significantly raises bills for homeowners, with Falmouth District Supervisor Kecia Evans voting in favor. The 4–3 decision means the average homeowner will pay about 57% more in real estate taxes than in 2021, funding new schools, public safety, and infrastructure. Residents on fixed incomes warned supervisors the rising costs may push them out.
