Baby Found Abandoned In Stafford County Park, Authorities Searching For Mother
The baby is safe and well, authorities say.
STAFFORD, VA – A baby was found near Embrey Mill Park Tuesday afternoon, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, and authorities are asking for help finding the child’s mother.
The sheriff’s office is investigating the incident. The baby was found in the area of Coriander Lane and Embrey Mill Road near Embrey Mill Park sometime before 5 p.m., when the sheriff’s office made its statement. The child is safe and is being cared for by the sheriff’s office and child protective services, the office reports.
“At this time, our greatest concern is for the health and well-being of the baby’s mother,” the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office wrote in a social media post about the incident. “We understand that she may be in need of medical attention, support or assistance, and we want to ensure she is safe.”

The sheriff asked community members to avoid the area as they conduct their investigation and asked anyone with information, including anyone with surveillance or camera footage, to contact the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office immediately at (540) 658-4400.
