1. Shenandoah Valley Pride Festival returns to Harrisonburg this weekend (dnronline.com) — Harrisonburg residents can spend Sunday afternoon at the Shenandoah Valley Pride Festival at Turner Pavilion, featuring live performers, vendors, and community resources from 12:30 to 6:30 p.m. Organizers are coordinating with the City of Harrisonburg on safety, encouraging use of the Water Street parking garage and fencing the area. A Pride worship service is planned Saturday at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, with an after-party Sunday evening at Wizard Mode Brewcade.
   

2. Crews respond to structure fire in downtown Harrisonburg (whsv.com) — North Liberty Street in downtown Harrisonburg remains closed between Wolfe and Rock streets after firefighters extinguished a Friday night house fire in the 200 block. Crews found smoke, forced entry, and contained flames that had spread to the attic, with no one inside. Officials are asking drivers to avoid the area and use alternate routes while the investigation and cleanup continue.
   

3. POW & MIA Recognition Day ceremony held in honor of service members who haven't returned home (whsv.com) — Harrisonburg veterans and families gathered Friday at Veterans Memorial Park for a long-running POW/MIA Recognition Day ceremony honoring service members who never returned home. Organized by Proud American Riders and AMVETS Post 07 for 22 years, the event featured a missing man table, wreath-laying, taps, and remarks from Del. Tony Wilt urging residents to keep honoring and searching for the missing.
   

4. Harrisonburg teenager charged for threat against Westwood Hills (cvillerightnow.com) — A 14-year-old from Harrisonburg has been charged with making a hoax bomb threat against Westwood Hills Elementary in Waynesboro, days after a shooting there wounded a staff member. Waynesboro Police say the threat, reported overnight Sept. 5, was quickly deemed false, a suspect was located that day, and Harrisonburg Police assisted as the broader investigation continues.
