• FCPS starts new school year with full cellphone ban, fewer crossing guards and other changes (ffxnow.com) — Hayfield Secondary families should know that crossing guard coverage is being maintained at the school even as Fairfax County cuts guards at many other high schools, and FCPS tightens safety and tech rules. Students now face a full cellphone and smartwatch ban during the school day, new bag and weapons screening rules at football games, and expanded access to free virtual mental health services.
