• Loudoun County Man Sentenced To 15 Years In Prison, Lifetime On Sex Offender List, For 2025 Assault (patch.com) — Leesburg readers are learning that a Sterling man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to aggravated sexual battery stemming from a 2025 assault. Loudoun County prosecutors say he attacked an intoxicated woman in Sterling and ignored her pleas to stop, and he will now remain on the sex offender registry for life.
   

• Gen. George Marshall's Leesburg home designated National Park Service affiliated area (insidenova.com) — Leesburg's Dodona Manor, the historic home of Gen. George C. Marshall, has just been designated an affiliated area of the National Park Service, bringing new preservation expertise and visibility to town. The change could mean improved restoration, accessibility, and educational programming at the Marshall Center, strengthening Leesburg's role as a destination for history-minded visitors and school groups.
