Louisa County imposes mandatory water restrictions as drought continues (29news.com) — Louisa County has enacted mandatory water restrictions for customers on four public well systems serving Zion Crossroads, Lake Anna and nearby areas, limiting lawn watering, car washing, pool filling and more. Private wells are exempt but officials urge everyone to conserve as drought conditions persist and fines are possible for violations until rainfall improves supplies.

Full steam ahead: The N&W 611 is chugging into Louisa County (nbc12.com) — A historic steam locomotive ride is coming right to downtown Louisa, with excursions departing the renovated Louisa train depot and rolling through local countryside later this month. Residents can choose a 90‑minute Louisa route or a special July 5 extended trip over Afton Mountain, with the famed N&W 611 leading part of the journey.

Water skiers flock to Bumpass Buoyfest (cbs19news.com) — Professional and amateur water skiers are converging on Louisa County this weekend for the free, two‑day Bumpass Buoyfest tournament, and spectators are welcome. Supervisors approve new advanced EMT position (fluvannareview.com) — Fluvanna supervisors have created a new advanced EMT position to better recognize training and responsibilities, while approving budget shifts to fund higher pay. They also heard from VDOT’s Louisa residency engineer about road maintenance concerns and learned that refinancing James River Water Authority debt could save up to $281,000 shared between Fluvanna and Louisa counties.
