Important Schedule, Grading, Cost And Other Changes In Prince William County Public Schools This Year (patch.com) — Families in Manassas and across Prince William County face higher school meal prices, new start times for several middle and high schools, and updated grading policies that standardize how formative and summative work are weighted. Parents and students will also see changes to school apps, receive iPads for all K-12 students, and may be asked to participate in a new social-emotional learning snapshot survey.

The judge declined to pause the law, but acknowledged the serious economic harm, while the Manassas-based District Hemp Botanicals is urging a special legislative session and enforcement pause to protect small businesses and consumer access.

Manassas City Education Foundation awards $42,700 in scholarships, restarts educator grants (potomaclocal.com) — Manassas families and educators are seeing a boost in support, with the Manassas City Public Schools Education Foundation awarding $42,700 in scholarships and restarting educator grants. Backed by local partners like Micron, Lockheed Martin, and the Manassas Volunteer Fire Foundation, the group is growing undesignated donations to fund more classroom projects and student opportunities at Osbourn, Metz, and city elementary schools.
   

4. Have You Seen What's Coming Up in Historic Downtown Manassas? (princewilliamliving.com) — Historic Downtown Manassas has a full late-summer lineup, from a Gathered on Center ribbon cutting August 20 to First Friday, car shows, and the Manassas International and Latino festivals in September. Residents are also urged to mark calendars for the Oct. 3 Fall Jubilee and follow Historic Manassas, Inc. for the latest Old Town happenings.
