• Manassas Teen Killed At First Friday Shooting Identified, 1 Shooter At Large: Police (patch.com) — Manassas residents gathered at Harris Pavilion to mourn 16-year-old Ashley Intihar, a Patriot High School student killed in crossfire during First Friday near Foster's Grill by the train depot. Police have arrested 21-year-old Tasheem Douglas on murder and firearm charges but say a second shooter remains at large, and the investigation continues without recent public updates.
   

• 3 Die In I-66 Crash Classic Cars Compete: VA Weekend Roundup (patch.com) — Manassas readers should know that a local teenage girl was fatally shot Friday night at a neighborhood gathering, and a suspect has been charged. The statewide Labor Day roundup also covers a deadly I-66 crash, Fairfax's big classic car show, and a smoothie chain's first Virginia location opening in nearby Fairfax City.
   

• Man accused of using water gun in attempted armed robbery in Manassas arrested (wjla.com) — Police say a man was arrested after allegedly trying to rob a Brinks security employee in Manassas using what turned out to be a water gun. Officers responded to a Salvation Army in nearby Woodbridge, tracked down the suspect, and charged him with attempted robbery; he's being held without bond pending a court date.
