Fairfax County Government Offices, Services Altered For Feb. 23
Some Fairfax County government office hours and services have been changed for Monday, Feb. 23 due to the impending snowstorm.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — As rains shifts to snow, Fairfax County government offices will be closed on Monday, Feb. 23, according to an alert sent out at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Emergency administrative leave is granted for county employees not designated as emergency personnel. Emergency personnel should report as scheduled on Monday.
Fairfax County Public Schools also updated its operating status for Monday.

Here are the Fairfax County offices and services that have updated their operating status for Monday:
- Fairfax County General District, Circuit, Juvenile and Domestic Relations Courts are closed on Monday.
- Weather Alert: All Neighborhood and Community Services facilities/programs are closed on Monday.
- Check status of Fairfax County public meetings.
- Check status of Fairfax County parks.
- Check status of Fairfax County Animal Shelter and Services.
- McLean Community Center: Due to inclement weather, Fairfax County Government facilities, including McLean Community Center, is closed on Monday, Feb. 23. Make-up classes will be scheduled if possible.
- Reston Community Center will be closed on Monday, Feb. 23.
- All classes are canceled; Make-up classes will be scheduled if possible, no refunds will be issued.
- Canceled rentals or performances will be refunded.
- Fairfax Connector: Operating Regular Weekday Service with Snow Detours on Monday, Feb. 23
- Fastran will transport dialysis, chemotherapy, and radiation trips only on Monday, Feb. 23. All other scheduled route services are canceled – including senior centers, adult day health care, Women’s Recovery Center, senior residence trips and charter services.
- Metro Rail/Bus — Check status for Monday, Feb. 23.
A winter weather advisory is in place from 5 p.m. Sunday to 10 a.m. Monday for the District of Columbia, Fairfax, Arlington, Falls Church, Alexandria, Prince William, Manassas and Manassas Park. according to the National Weather Service.

Total snow accumulations between 2 and 4 inches is expected with localized amounts around 5 inches, the NWS said. Look for northwest winds gusting between 30 and 40 mph overnight through Monday.
Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions will impact the Monday morning commute.
