The Fairfax County Police Department reported responding to the scene of a shooting on the 7200 block of Fairchild Drive at 7:55 p.m. Tuesday. They say one man was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and that their initial assessment is that the victim and suspect knew each other. About 90 minutes later, police announced that they had taken a suspect into custody near the scene. The victim remains hospitalized.
