Hi, I'm Shelby! I’m a local mediator who helps neighbors resolve family, relationship, and workplace conflicts in a calm, structured way. Through my small business, Rogers Resolution Services, I offer mediation and conflict-resolution support tailored to your unique needs and help guide people through difficult conversations. I work primarily with co-parents, partners, relatives, roommates, and teams who need help talking through decisions, routines, boundaries, or recurring disagreements. I also support workplaces and community groups facing communication challenges or breakdowns. My role is neutral. I don’t give legal advice or take sides. I facilitate conversations, de-escalate tense situations, and help people reach practical and maintainable agreements they can feel comfortable with. But for many local families, the excitement of a new school year is overshadowed by the financial stress of buying school supplies. By helping families meet this essential need, we can ease financial pressure and give students the tools they need to succeed from day one.
This summer, NVFS is bringing together individuals, businesses, and community partners from across Northern Virginia, to provide new backpacks and essential school supplies to more than 1,500 local students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Together, we're helping children feel prepared for the school year ahead while easing the financial burden on families working toward greater stability.
You can help families start the school year with confidence. Whether you donate, host a supply drive, or spread the word, every contribution helps equip students for success in the classroom, and strengthens families across our community.

Rising 9th through 12th graders residing in the City of Alexandria are invited to <a href="https://www.research.net/r/YouthLC2026" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">register for the annual Alexandria Youth Leadership Conference</a>.&nbsp;The 2026 Alexandria Youth Leadership Conference will be held August 11-13 at the Del Pepper Community Resource Center (4850 Mark Center Dr.)&nbsp;
This event is free and youth must register by August 7. <a href="https://www.research.net/r/YouthLC2026" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Register here.</a>
The first two days of this three-day conference will feature interactive workshops. The last day of the conference will include an afternoon networking session with some of Alexandria's most prominent community leaders. Lunch will be provided all three days of the conference and youth who attend the conference in its entirety are eligible to receive a $20 gift card. 
The Youth Leadership Conference empowers emerging young leaders by providing training opportunities and connecting them to resources in their community. This event is hosted by the Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition of Alexandria (SAPCA), the Alexandria Campaign on Adolescent Pregnancy (ACAP), the Alexandria Sexual Assault Center, and the Alexandria Library.
